Today ARXUM participated in Digital Transformation in the Food Supply Chain

Opening was given by Prof. Dr. med. med. vet. Katharina Riehn, Chairwoman of DLG Food Center and speech was held by Germany’s Federal Minister for Agriculture & Food, Julia Klöckner. She mentioned Blockchain as one of the core digitization technologies to improve food safety, re-traceability and to reduce food waste.
ARXUM is one of the ministry’s featured research projects REIF (Resource-efficient, Economic and Intelligent Foodchain) and will provide this core technology in one of Germany’s most prestigious research programs. (

ARXUM’s CEO Markus Jostock wrote a paper on blockchain for supply chain for DLG which can be found at…/expertenwis…/dlg-expertenwissen-62019/

Below is a short excerpt from the paper :
In the area of food production, where consumer protection is paramount and trust in product and producer is vital, this technology can be used to document product quality and document process parameters requiring documentation. The production data can be stored directly out of the machine in a smart contract on the blockchain. Now, different partners can access this data, each with a different focus and in each case so that only the information that really matters to them is available.
Customers get access to the origin of the products
Distributors receive information about the entire supply chain including delivered batches
Food inspectors can understand if process parameters and the cold chain of a batch have been complied with
Manufacturers of production machines can receive data for predictive maintenance
Transport and logistics companies store information about cold chains
